3C589B - DEC Hi-Note Ultra
Problem: In a DEC Hi-Note Ultra, the 3C589.COM ODI driver won't load and connect to NetWare servers.
Solution: Upgrade to DEC BIOS v1.30.
MLID 3C589.COM dated 9-8-94 loads at the following values. To get going with System
Soft's Card Services running SSCIRRUS.EXE, specify "INT 11" in the NET.CFG file.
interrupt port memory
------------ -------- ------------
11 300 DF00 (Enabler Values, without Card Services)
11 500 (Card Service Values, with "INT 11" in NET.CFG)
Note: If "INT 11" is not added to the NET.CFG file when running with Card Services, the laptop hangs when 3C589.COM loads.
To connect to a Novell 4.02 server using card services, download HINOTE.EXE from DEC's BBS (508) 496-8800. HINOTE.EXE is a self-extracting file that provides the latest BIOS, the latest Card and Socket Services, and the latest software utilities that come with the Hi-Note notebook.
