3C589B - Canon Innova 10, 150

Question: In an Innova Book 150, diagnostics in Point Enabler mode return "This port address is used by another device" from the 3C5X9CFG. Login to Novell NetWork causes intermittent connection. Will the 3C589B work with DDBOOK chipsets? Can I use my 3C589 in a Canon Innova 10 or 150 laptop?

Answer: The Canon Innova 10 uses a Databook controller chip, and the Canon Innova 150 uses the Cirrus Logic PD6720. Canon bundles Phoenix Card and Socket Services with the laptops; consequently, they will not support 3C589 or 3C589B cards and drivers.
