3C589 - Coax power consumption

Problem: Using a 3C589 combo adapter in a Gateway Handbook with coax cables, the user cannot receive or transmit under WFW. The user sees other stations by going to File Manager, but cannot copy files to those stations.

Solution: Switch to TP cabling. The Gateway Handbook can only put out 250 mA maximum. The 3C589 requires 430 mA when running coax and 110 mA when running TP. The new 3C589B versions will require much less power: 210 mA for Coax and 50 mA for TP.
