3C589 - HiNote CS433 - Windows 95
Problem: 3C589B works on WFW 3.11, but on a HiNote CS433 laptop, Windows 95 asks for the EtherDisk. After inserting disk 5.1, the system hangs and the user must turn off the HiNote.
Solution: The Windows 95 driver for the 3C589B ships with Windows 95. If the user inserts the EtherDisk, Windows 95 reads the OEMSETUP.INF file for WFW 3.11, and the machine hangs.
1. Go to Device Manager and remove the "PCMCIA Socket" option and anything under "Network adapter".
2. Reboot without the 3C589B installed and let Windows 95 autodetect the PCMCIA Socket. Windows 95 Card Services will be re-installed.
3. Reboot again.
4. When Windows 95 comes back up, insert the 3C589B and have Windows 95 copy the driver from the Windows 95 CD-ROM or diskettes.
