Can I change the 3C509(B) wake-up ID for Windows NT 3.5?

Question: Can I change the wake-up ID for the 3C509(B) adapter(s) for Windows NT 3.5?

Answer: Yes. Reconfigure the ID port for the 3C509 ISA in the Windows NT 3.5 driver as follows:

1. Open the file manager.
2. Under the NT directory (default is WINNT35), open the SYSTEM32 folder.
3. Run REGEDT32.EXE.
4. Under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE", open the "SYSTEM" folder.
5. Open the "CurrentControlSet" folder.
6. Open the "Elnk31" folder.
7. Open the "Parameters" folder.
8. Choose the "Add Value" option in the "Edit" pull down menu.
9. Type IDPort for the value (case sensitive).
10. Set the data type to "REG_DWORD".
11. Click "OK".
12. Enter the hex value of the IDPort (valid values are 110 to 1F0 in 10 step).
13. Check that the data type radio button is set to HEX.
14. Click "OK".
15. Check the registry to verify the following line was added (assuming you picked 1E0 for data): "IDPort:REG_DWORD:0x1E0"
16. Shut down and reboot.
