3C589B - WFW 3.11- Installing the PCMCIA driver in Windows for Workgroup.

The PCMCIA 3C589 and 3C589B adapter does not have an NDIS3 driver to use in Windows for Workgroups v3.11. To install the NDIS2 driver, follow these simple steps after installing WFW3.11:

1. Select the NETWORK SETUP icon from the NETWORK Group
2. Click on NETWORK DRIVERS
3. Double-click ADD ADAPTER
4. Select "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter"
5. You will be prompted to insert Vendor provided driver in drive A:
6. Insert the 3Com EtherDisk in Drive A: and press Ok

You will see the driver for the 3C589/3C589B PCMCIA adapter listed in the driver's window. By default, WFW will set MICROSOFT NETBEUI as the default protocol and may also add the IPX/SPX COMPATIBLE TRANSPORT w/NetBIOS as a second protocol. If not connecting to Novell network, you may highlight the SPX/IPX protocol and remove it.

7. PCMCIA NDIS2 driver installation is complete. Exit WFW and restart
