FTP's PCTCP and EtherLink III ODI driver
Problems have been discovered when using the 3C509 in a machine running FTP's PCTCP utilizing the ODIPKT.COM file and the 3C509.COM ODI driver.
FTP's package is written to the packet driver interface and must use the ODIPKT.COM shim file to allow the TCP protocol to communicate through ODI specification drivers. This allows users to configure their machine to access TCP hosts as well as NetWare file servers through the IPXODI protocol stack.
The problem's symptom is the workstation hangs when a large file transfer is performed in an Telnet session or while FTPing.
If you see this problem, you should get v1.20 of ODIPKT.COM from FTP. The patch is available on an FTP server; call FTP (the company) to get the server address and name. 3Com does not provide the patch on its own electronic distribution systems.
