Configuring Sun PC-NFS with QUIKNDIS utility to use EtherLink III

QUIKNDIS is a program that helps you configure an NDIS driver for use with PC-NFS software and is provided with version 4.0. Use QUIKNDIS only after you have installed PC-NFS software and chosen "Use a manufacturer's NDIS Driver NDIS" option.

If you want to use the 3C509 NDIS MAC driver, there are two ways to have the files read into the program:

Method #1:

1. Create a directory on the QUIKNDIS diskette and name it \ELKN3.

2. Copy ELNK3.DOS, PROTOCOL.INI, and ELNK3.NIF to the new directory.

3. Run QUIKNDIS; it will show the ELNK3 as an option.

4. Answer the prompts and QUIKNDIS will modify the pertinent files.

Method #2:

1. Create a directory on a floppy or hard disk that contains ELNK3.DOS, PROTOCOL.INI, and ELNK3.NIF. These files are located on the EtherDisk in separate directories and need to be copied into a single directory.

2. Run QUIKNDIS and choose "0" as an option. QUIKNDIS will prompt you for the path where the files are located.

3. Answer the prompts and QUIKNDIS will modify the pertinent files.
