3C90x - NetWare 3.12 - Error: "Do you want to load another frame type?"

Problem: Error: do you want to load another frame type? You must answer [Y] for yes or [N] for no.

Solution: Edit Startnet.bat as follows:

Load c:\novell\client32\3c90x Slot=X port =8400 Frame=Ethernet_802.3
Load c:\novell\client32\3c90x Slot=X port =8400 Frame=Ethernet_802.2

Note: X is the physical slot on the motherboard that the NIC is installed in,
not the slot number provided by 3Com Configuration and Diagnotics program
