3C575 - 3CCFE575BT - IBM Thinkpad cardbus laptops - Win95B - Socket does not see card
Note: This fix has only been tested on the IBM Thinkpad 760X or 765D, but may work for other Thinkpad cardbus laptops as well.
Problem: The 3C575 is either not detected or it does not work properly in a CardBus compatible Thinkpad Machine running Windows 95 (4.00.950 B). If you have an earlier version of Windows 95, the adapter will not be automatically detected and must be added manually.
Solution: If you have EtherDisk Version 1.0, obtain the current shipping disk.
Make sure that the laptop is not in a Docking Station during the installation process.

Upon boot-up, the 3C575 Cardbus Card should be redected and begin the installation process. (It may initially detect as a PCI Ethernet Controller, which is OK)
When prompted, Insert the Etherdisk and click on Next.
Note: All of the installation files will be located on the root directory of the 3Com Etherdisk, or in the Windows 95 *.cab files. Windows 95 .cab files are generally located in one of the following locations: C:\Windows\Options\Cabs, D:\Win95 (on the CD-ROM), or one of Windows 95 Installation Diskettes.
NOTE: If you get a "windows protection error" on boot up after the 3C575-TX was installed, then make sure that you are installing with the FE575X1.EXE driver as indicated above. After following the extraction procedures listed below, follow the 3C575 removal procedures indicated in Step 1, and then the Reinstall procedures indicated in Step 4.
