3C339 - Windows 95A, Win95B, NT 4.0 - Cannot insert into the ring

PROBLEM: The Device Manager displays the 3C339 driver as working properly. There are no resource conflicts.
The ring speed is set correctly in the 3Com DOS configuration utility. But, the NIC does not insert into the ring.

SOLUTION: The ring speed must match, in both Windows and the 3Com DOS configuration utility.

In the Network Configuration window, highlight the 3Com TokenLink Velocity PCI Adapter.

Click on the Advanced tab.
Click on Ring Speed.
Select the appropriate Ring Speed; either 4 or 16.
Click OK.
Click OK.

Windows NT 4.0:
Right click on Network Neighborhood.
Click on Properties.
Click on Adapters.
Highlight the 3Com TL 3C339 Adapter.
Click on Properties.
Click on the Network Speed.
Highlight the correct Network Speed.
Click OK.
Click Close.
