Card should function at this point? if not, refer to
troubleshooting section of this document for basic Mac troubleshooting. Installation under MacOS 8.1 ? 8.6 (MacOS 9.x compatibility not
know at this time, OS X not supported in any way shape or form.) 1.
Follow the install instructions above for normal install. 2.
Go to http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/nic/xjaem3336.htm and
download both files there.
3.
Once downloaded, double click on the files, they should decompress
into folders containing extensions.
This decompression will require they have Stuffit Expander installed on
their machine. Should not be an issue
since all current OS's since 8.5 have come with it preinstalled; and if they
have Netscape or IE installed, then it's on their Mac. If it for some reason is not, you can go to
http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/index.html 4.
Take that extension and drop it on the system folder, there will
be a dialog stating something to the effect of "certain files need to be
stored in specific locations within the system folder to function
correctly. Put them away
now?" Click Yes, and you will then
get the message that one file has been placed in the extension folder. 5.
Reboot the machine and attempt to browse network through the
Chooser. Troubleshooting: Has the card been installed?
Does the card work?
