ISDN Configuration |
The ISDN Bridge Configuration menu is used to access various groups of parameter settings which affect how the unit operates within its application environment with respect to its ISDN links. At the command prompt, enter CO IS to display the ISDN Bridge Configuration menu shown in Figure 8-1. |
| Figure 8-1 |
| The ISDN Bridge Configuration menu allows access to the following preferences screens: |
| PAram Provides access to a preferences screen containing a number of fields which customize the unit to operate with a variety of international ISDN switch variants. |
| AUTHorize Provides access to the Bridges and Routers Authorized to Join Network table. This table can be used to restrict which remote units can communicate with the local unit to those whose MAC address is entered in the table. |

If no entries are contained in this table, the unit answers any call. Making a single entry in this table activates the AUTHorize facility and automatically restricts ISDN access. |
| AUTOcall Provides access to the ISDN Autocall Addresses table which contains the ISDN telephone numbers which can be entered and associated with either MAC addresses, TCP/IP addresses or Novell IPX addresses. If one of these address types is detected on the LAN, which matches an entry in the table, an ISDN call is automatically established using the associated ISDN Number. Data is then forwarded over the established link. |
| BAnds (500, 600, 700 and 7000 only) This facility is used to build and change a list of ISDN usage bands over a seven day period, within which the ISDN service can be used in either Backup or Demand Mode. |
| NUmbers This facility is used to build and edit a list of ISDN numbers that can be manually called from the management system and to enable remote unit names to be associated with ISDN numbers for use with the autocall facility. |
| CLa Calling line authorization is used to restrict incoming ISDN calls so that they can only be received from remote units whose ISDN numbers are entered in this table. |
| SServices ISDN supplementary services, this facility allows specified types of handset to use code sequences to access features. |

If no entries are contained in this table, the unit answers any call. Making a single entry into this table activates the Calling Line Identification (CLI) facility and automatically restricts ISDN access. |
| CLI is a facility offered as part of the ISDN service by the service provider, and you must have subscribed to this service before using the unit's CLI feature. | |
