SuperStack II RAS1500 Software release 2.5

Release 2.5 software included here supports the following new features not available in release 2.0:

MS CHAP V1 and V2: Release 2.5 includes support for dialin, server, and radius. MSCHAP support includes Versions 1 and 2. Versions 1 and 2 are separate protocols and are incompatible with each other.
Ethernet now has full duplex functionality.
New and easy to use Upgrade Utility
Static and Dynamic Network Address translation over the WAN interface
Port Address Translation (PAT) and Network Address Translation (NAT) over the WAN interface.
Web Based configuration of Frame-relay over WAN interface
Web Based configuration of PPP over WAN Interface
Better integration of Access lists, Access filters on users and physical interfaces
File compression : Release 2.5 includes improved file compression for internal file storage, increasing the amount of free space on the flash of the Router Unit.
Release 2.5 includes support for callback to GSM devices, at the prevailing GSM data rate

The ZIP file available here has the contents of the 2.5 CD shipping with the RAS1500, except the documentation has been removed (Please go here for documentation and release notes) as well as the PDF reader, which is available elsewhere. The ZIP file also contains an upgrade utility that will allow you to upgrade your current RAS1500 to the latest software release.

Release 2.0 software included here supports the following new features not available in release 1.5:

Primary Rate Access Unit (PAU) 3C433270 for North America
Primary Rate Access Unit (PAU) 3C433279 for Europe
DHCP Proxy and Relay
Caller ID Callback
Web Browser Configuration

TRAM is not supported for release 2.0

No hardware upgrade beyond what is required for release 1.5 is needed.

NT NOS Authentication Software has been updated for this release to eliminate time dependency. Download the entire CD image above, or just the NT NOS software here: ntnos12.zip, 1.16 Mb

NT Dial-out IP software has been updated for the RAS 1500 release software 2.0. NT Dial-out IP is included in the CD image above. Please note that this version only work with RAS 1500 release software 2.0 or later.

RAS1500 Release 1.5 Software CD

The upgrade of release 1.0 Base Units requires an additional 16M SIMM to be added, as part of the software upgrade process. This upgrade kit can be obtained through normal 3Com distribution channels by ordering part # 3C436220 or 3C436221-MEM. The use of 1.5.x or greater software on 1.0 Base Units without the additional memory is NOT supported.

The use of the DialOut IP software from Tactical Software requires the use of a software key or serial number when loading the client software. Contact 3Com Support for this key.
