This ReadMe file contains the latest information about your OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog router, briefly describes the software update mechanism, and summarizes the information that you will find in the V2.2.0 Release Notes and Configuration Notes.

Software Update

The V2.2.0 software is downloadable from this Web site. This new software upgrades both the router and modem software in the OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog Router. The upgrade provides:

• Modem speed increase to the V.90 standard
• Enhancements to the Web configuration interface
• Bug fixes

The Upgrade Wizard instructions explain how to upgrade your router’s software to V2.2.0.

Release Notes

The V2.2.0 release includes changes to the OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog router as detailed in the V2.2.0 Release Notes. The Release Notes contain the following sections:

• A description of the modification that makes it easier to configure the router to its factory default configuration, and instructions for configuring your workstation to access the OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog router Web configuration interface.

Note: This information supersedes sections in the existing OfficeConnect Remote Install Guide (shipped with the router) and OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog User’s Guide (contained on the CD ROM shipped with the router). Specifically, the factory default section of the Release Notes supersedes those sections in the existing documentation that address the boot options and establishing communications with the router (sections in Chapters 2 and 4 of both documents).

• A descriptive listing of the bug fixes or workarounds included in the release.
• Information that supplements the regulatory statements found in the existing product documentation.

Configuration Notes

The V2.2.0 Configuration Notes contains step-by-step instructions for configuring the OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog router to operate in each of the following recommended scenarios:

• Small Business Solution—Internet Access
• Small to Medium Enterprise Solution—Small Office or Telecommuter to Corporate Network
• Small Business Solution—Small Office with Mobile Dial-in Users
• Small to Medium Enterprise Solution—Small Office to Small Office (OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog router to OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog router)

See the Configuration Notes for descriptions of these scenarios and for configuration instructions. The instructions supersede the configuration information found in Chapter 4 of the existing OfficeConnect Remote Install Guide (shipped with the router), Chapters 4 and 5 of the OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog User’s Guide (located on the CD ROM shipped with the router), and information found under the Hints and Tips link on the OfficeConnect Remote Dual Analog router’s Web configuration home page. The new configuration information is more concise and easier to follow than that found in the older documentation.
